Select Your Base Currency
The 'base currency' is the foundation of any exchange rate table—it's the currency you're starting with. By default, many charts show rates against the US Dollar (USD) or Euro (EUR), but what if you want to see everything relative to your own currency?
This powerful tool lets you select any of our 150+ supported currencies as the base. Instantly, the entire exchange rate table will recalculate to show you the value of your chosen currency against every other currency in the world. It’s the perfect way to get a global perspective from your local point of view.

Why is Choosing a Base Currency Useful?
Financial news and platforms often quote currencies against the US Dollar by default. While useful, it doesn't always provide the most intuitive understanding for someone who doesn't use USD in their daily life. Changing the base currency to your own local currency makes exchange rates instantly relatable.
For example, a business owner in Japan can set JPY as the base to see how much 1 Yen is worth in USD, EUR, and other currencies, which is invaluable for pricing products for different markets. A traveler from Australia can set AUD as the base to budget for a multi-country trip. It puts you at the center of the financial world.
